National allergy data

The National Allergy Research Centre has established a national database for contact allergy with a view to monitoring the prevalence of allergies in Denmark.

A nationwide network of consultant specialists in dermatology has been set up, which reports to the database along with the dermatology department at the regional hospital in Gentofte, the dermatology department at Odense University Hospital and the dermatology department at Marselisborg hospital.

The purpose of the network is to track developments in allergy prevalence, quickly detect any new forms of allergy, and to monitor the effect of prevention initiatives.
